Restoring Order To The Kitchen

All Space Should Be Functional

The kitchen is the heart of every home and it needs to, above all else, be functional! This kitchen was designed with a traffic pattern through it in both directions, we didn’t want to move walls and doors, but we did want to improve function and appearance.

The Client’s Dream:

  • A more usable kitchen, with more modern finishes. Making better use of the space. A more usable pantry. Improved lighting and a better breakfast bar.

What We Did:

  • We improved the function by removing a tiny closet pantry and expanding cabinets into that space. We slide the kitchen down a few inches to get a full 12” overhang on the breakfast bar. Added a coffee bar and wine bar and pantry with roll out trays in the mostly lost space by the deck door. All new flooring on the ground floor of the house, all new cabinets, appliances, stone and lighting dramatically upgraded the appearance and function. Topping it off with a beautiful new tile backsplash.
